Tips for dealing with morning sickness during Pregnancy

Updated: Jun 5, 2022

Morning sickness is a common symptom of early pregnancy. There's no single right or wrong way to deal with it, but here are some tips to help make your experience as comfortable as possible.

1. Drink plenty of fluids. A full glass of water or juice each morning will help you stay hydrated and avoid feeling nauseated. You can also sip on chamomile tea or ginger ale if that's more your style.

2. Eat light meals. Keeping your stomach settled with small, frequent meals will help avoid any troublesome bouts of nausea later in the day. Try avoiding greasy and heavy foods, and instead opt for fruits, yogurt, crackers, and toast.

3. Get rest. When your body is sick, it wants to rest as much as possible to recover. Make sure to get enough sleep each night so that you're not overtired when morning sickness kicks in. If you're having trouble sleeping, consider using herbal supplements like ginger or chamomile before bedtime to help you relax.

4. Stay positive! Research has shown that mentally preparing for pregnancy can actually be improved by staying positive, staying away from sad distractions, and simply being happy.
